My Unforgettable 4 Days 3 Nights Lombok to Komodo Tour Experience

Home > Blog

Traveling across Indonesia by sea has always been on my bucket list, and joining a 4 Days 3 Nights Lombok to Komodo Tour with a different route turned out to be one of the most extraordinary experiences I’ve ever had. This journey was not only about reaching Komodo Island, but about enjoying a complete sea adventure filled with wildlife encounters, stunning islands, and unforgettable moments on board

Why I Chose a 4D3N Lombok to Komodo Boat Trip

I wanted a trip that felt immersive, not rushed. Compared to shorter options, a Lombok to Komodo Tour 4 Days 3 Nights offers more time to explore, relax, and truly connect with nature. Sailing across eastern Indonesia allowed me to enjoy peaceful nights at sea, golden sunsets, and the unique experience of living on a boat for several days.

Traveling by liveaboard boat instead of flying made the journey itself just as meaningful as the destinations.

Day 1: Lombok – Kayangan Harbor – Kenawa Island

The adventure began early in the morning with a hotel pick-up in Lombok. The transfer was smooth and comfortable, and after a short registration process, we headed to Kayangan Harbor, where our liveaboard boat was waiting.

By mid-afternoon, the boat departed, officially starting our Komodo Island tour from Lombok. About an hour after sailing, we arrived at Kenawa Island. This was the perfect introduction to the journey. I did a short trek on the hill, enjoyed the wide-open views, and watched my first sunset of the trip as the sky slowly turned orange.

That evening, we enjoyed a freshly prepared dinner on board while the boat sailed overnight to the next destination. Sleeping with the sound of the ocean was incredibly calming.

Day 2: Saleh Bay – Tambora Waters – Sailing Toward Komodo

The second day started with an experience I will never forget. In the calm waters of Saleh Bay, I had the chance to swim alongside whale sharks. Seeing these gentle giants up close was surreal and easily one of the highlights of the entire tour.

Later, as we continued sailing near Tambora Waters, we spotted dolphins swimming alongside the boat. We stopped briefly for a refreshing swim in the clear turquoise sea before enjoying lunch on board.

The rest of the day was spent sailing deeper into Komodo National Park. The atmosphere on the boat was relaxed, with everyone sharing stories and enjoying the journey as the sun slowly set.

Day 3: Komodo Island – Pink Beach – Padar Island

After breakfast, we arrived at Komodo Island. Accompanied by a local ranger, we did a guided trek at Loh Liang Village to see the legendary Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. Walking through the island and encountering these massive reptiles was both thrilling and unforgettable.

Next, we sailed to Pink Beach, one of the most unique beaches in the world. I spent a couple of hours swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the soft pink sand while enjoying the crystal-clear water.

In the late afternoon, the boat headed to Padar Island. The hike to the top was challenging but absolutely worth it. From the summit, I witnessed one of the most iconic views in Indonesia — three differently colored beaches under the golden light of sunset.

That evening, we returned to the boat for dinner, followed by a relaxed and fun boat party under the stars to celebrate our adventure.

Day 4: Majarite Island – Kelor Island – Labuan Bajo

On the final day, we started with a morning snorkel at Majarite Island. The coral reefs were vibrant, and I even spotted sea turtles gliding gracefully through the water.

After that, we sailed to Kelor Island, where we spent a few hours enjoying the white-sand beach. I chose to hike up the hill for panoramic views, while others snorkeled near the shore, spotting small reef sharks in the shallow waters.

In the afternoon, we sailed toward Labuan Bajo, marking the end of our Lombok to Komodo boat trip. Saying goodbye to the crew felt emotional — the boat had truly felt like home for four days.
